Days 1. Ancient West Baray Rural Villages Tour

Arrive at 7:45am at our office to collect and check the bikes, then go for a countryside ride along the Siem Reap River to the 11th century Wat Atveay temple, built during the 2nd Angkorian era. We follow the gravel road through rice fields and lotus views towards Phnom Krom hilltop to enjoy the beautiful countryside in Siem Reap.

Next, we visit the Secret Wat Keo Temple that hides the legend of the princess and the crocodile. Inside the Pagoda, we visit Buddha's stories painted on the wall and decorated by 100 Buddha statues made from stones, glass, and cement lining the worshiping area.

We then continue to Krabie Vil village, and we visit the local market to experience the taste of real Khmer Grandmothers' recipes, goodies, and snacks at the countryside café. We then ride to the hand-dug reservoir, the West Baray, for lunch. For lunch, we will enjoy an array of Cambodian delicacies: Papaya Salad, BBQ Chicken, Local Fresh Fish, and Stuffed Frog, waiting for us to pick one to try and sample the culture of the Khmer countryside cuisine. Relax on a hammock, enjoy cold drinks with a great view of the West Baray Lake.

The West Baray is a manmade water irrigation hand-dug in the 10th century by the ancient farmers' families who worked hard to supply the city of Angkor Thom.

We then continue with the ride to Grandma's house along the Baray to view the breathtaking sunset!

We will then enjoy a delicious dinner cooked by Grandma to sample her authentic Khmer recipes and then stay overnight at Grandma's house!

We can enjoy the Cambodian countryside tranquility to end the first day of the tour!!!
Day 2: Silk farm and lost temple - 35km to sunset at Road 60 fair playground

We rise early in the morning to see the sunrise at the rice paddies close to the homestay. We will see how the local farmers go about their daily lives and work on their fields. You will see some of them come to pick up their fishing traps set the night before, others plowing land, and many planting rice. If we are lucky, sometimes the farmers will offer us fish, eels, and crabs to take back to the homestay for lunch. We will have breakfast at the homestay, then we will go shopping at the local markets in the village and buy fresh local produce for Grandma to cook for lunch. We will leave the food for Grandma to cook, and our guide will take us to visit the Artisan D'Angkor silk farm production. There will be a guide to walk us around and tell the story from the beginning of production to the showroom.

We will take a coffee break at the showroom, then ride back to the homestay for the delicious lunch that Grandma has cooked. Afterwards, we will visit the Prasat Phnom Roung Temple, the ruined temple constructed before the time of Angkor Wat. We will then ride back to town, passing by the Bayon Temple and the majestic Angkor Wat Temple.

We will sample the eccentricities of Road 60, the street food, and the local fairground games and stalls, followed by seeing an incredible sunset (weather permitting). Enjoy the local experience and experience its taste! Let's try the local delicacies of Grasshoppers, Crickets, Snakes, Tarantulas, Stuffed Frog BBQ, and Chicken BBQ dishes. We can then relax and enjoy the crazy fun of the fairground.

We will finish around 7:30pm, and we will be transferred to our hotels!
